Elections have consequences, as the saying goes. If you’ve ever read through the opinions written by Supreme Court justices following a narrow decision (e.g. 5-4 vote), you quickly understand how partisan our courts can sometimes be.
It’s frankly not difficult for a judge or justice to find prior cases, old precedents, etc. to justify any ruling aligned with his/her political ideology. It’s been this way for longer than we’ve been alive.
This is just one of the many reasons why our election of a President is so critical. President Trump has been committed to appointing strong, qualified, CONSERVATIVE judges. And this past week, the Republican-controlled Senate just confirmed his 200th appointment to the federal bench.
I shudder to think of the judicial appointments Hillary Clinton would have made. Or a Joe Biden would make if elected.
